I have an affinity for the bitterness of broccoli’s little sister—broccolini—and when cooked in garlic oil, this dish is taken to the next level, with the garlic amplifying the savoury, spicy, and sweet flavour profiles of the ingredients. The additional caramel crunch of candied peanuts counterbalances the sharp, pungent greens, finishing off the dish beautifully. Much like broccoli, broccolini is in peak season from summer through to fall, so you can make this dish anytime. I have yet to decide if this is a side to a heavy pasta or hardy meal or a fantastic dessert to serve on its own. I will let you see for yourself.
